Asking AI Assistant for Imagery Acquisition Steps

In this section, you will learn how to use the AI Assistant to get step-by-step instructions to acquire archived imagery and future imagery.

Asking Instructions & Ordering Imagery

The procedure is the same for both archived and future imagery.

For illustration, the following steps show how to order archived images.

To search for archived imagery, do the following:

1. Click the AI Assistant icon to open it.

   

2. In the AI Assistant, type a prompt, such as: "I want to count palm trees in Reem Island, Abu Dhabi" and then press Enter.

   The AI Assistant replies:

   To assist you with palm tree detection in Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, we'll need to perform a Search Archive Task to find suitable satellite imagery. Here's how we can proceed:

   1. Set the Area of Interest (AOI): We'll define the AOI for Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. If you have specific coordinates or a WKT format, please provide them. Otherwise, I can generate the WKT for the location.
   2. Select the Date Range: Please provide the date range for the imagery you are interested in. The date range must be in the past up to the present date.
   3. Choose the Vendor and Product: For palm tree detection, the recommended satellites are:

      • Maxar WV03_VNIR

      • Airbus Pléiades Neo

      • Capella SAR

   Please select one of these vendors to proceed.

   Once you provide the date range and vendor selection, I can guide you on how to navigate the GIQ system to perform the search.

4. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided by the AI Assistant and then click the Search button.

   

The search results are displayed in the Search Results panel.

5. In the Search Results panel, locate an image that you want to buy, and do the following:

   • Click the Footprint Visibility toggle button to turn on the footprint of the imagery on the map.
   • View the price of the image.
   • Click the Add to Cart button to add the imagery to the shopping cart.
   
   

The Order Options dialog box is displayed.

6. In the Order Options dialog box, do one of the following:
   • View the default parameters selections presented by the AI Chat and then click the Confirm button.
   • Select the appropriate options to override the AI Chat and then click the Confirm button.

The selected imagery is displayed in the Order Options panel.

7. In the Order Options panel, do the following:

   • Click the License Type drop-down list and select an appropriate type of license.
   • Type an appropriate description in the Description box.
   • Select End User Agreement checkbox
   

8. Click the Place Order button to buy the archived imagery.

   The order is successfully placed.

   

9. Click the My Orders button to view your imagery order in the Orders sub-module.

   

You will receive a confirmation message in the email once your order is successfully placed.

Cancelling Imagery Order

In this section, you will get to know how to cancel an order.

To cancel the order, do the following:

1. Login to the platform.

2. Click the Acquire module and then click the Orders sub-module.

3. In the Orders sub-module, locate the order that you want to cancel and then click the Cancel icon.

   

   The order is immediately cancelled.
